The Bullwood Caber was the star of the show at the Tartan Day Parade.
The welcome from the people of New York exceeded all our expectations and the Caber was accepted as a genuine gesture of peace
and friendship from the people of Glasgow.
There had been some scepticism from the organisers about whether the
Caber would ever materialise in New York but when it did they were pleasantly surprised. The comment was made that they were
expecting “a lump of wood not a work of art”!
After the parade the Caber was taken to Roslyn Chapel in the City
and the Church was packed on Sunday with people wanting to get a closer look at the Caber and to be photographed beside it.
The Caber featured on the BBC Scotland news item on the parade.
